Data Extension config.yml vs _config.php

Hi guys
is there a particular reason that the extensions may not get added via config.yml file but same extension is getting added fine via _config.php? i was trying to add an extra class to silvershop product class and while the extension was added initially then it suddenly failed to load via mysite/code/_config/config.yml until i moved it to the mysite/_config.php

Does anyone know why I cannot get an mp4 file larger than 30M to upload? I'v had my IT guy increase the upload and post max file size to 75M and yet I cannot upload anything over 30M.

Actually Page::get() may give you more then SiteTree::get() because Page::get() will also return fields that are defined in the Page class, which SiteTree:: get() knows nothing about.

When using Page::get() silverstripe will automatically perform a join on the SiteTree table, so you get all fields from both tables...

Your question seems to be shifting a bit :) You were asking howto query the access field, and I suppose I answered that... Have you tried it? So with Page::get() instead of SiteTree::get() and the proper name of the CheckboxSetField?

And your situation is something like this (just that I get it right):

[EDIT FROM HERE]

User has levels 1, 2
Page 1 has field Access containing 1, 4 (comma separated list)
Page 2 has field Access containing 2, 5
Page 3 has field Access containing 6, 7, 8

User can see page 1 and 2 but not 3?

$userArray = array(1,2);
$pages = Page::get()->filterAny(array( 'Access:PartialMatch' => $userArray));

Haven't tested, but under the hood this should do something like ... where Access like '%1%' or Access like '%2%'

(which will still go wrong if access levels rise above 9, but if that's not going to happen...)

Thanks martimiz, you are correct in your assumption of "querying is checkboxSetField" and how it was set up.
Just to explain what I'm doing , I have some values that I am getting from an outside resource ( API call ) that determines what pages the user will be able to see.
For example I login as user and get Login levels from API call of 1 and 2.

In each page there is a list of access levels (checkboxSetField) that will be checked by the website admin, access levels 1 through 8.
So ideally I was to grab only the pages from SiteTree that are for this Login level, login level 1 and 2 to show only pages that have access checboxes 1 or 2 checked.

I hope this has made it a little clearer and not worse.

Ok... now I'm not sure if I get it this time, but it doesn't really matter what the name of a tab is - it's just a field holder. What you're querying is checkboxSetField I suspect. So supposedly you created something like this in the Page class:

private static $db = array('Access' => 'Varchar');

And then created a CheckBoxSetField called 'Access' on your Page, then you should be able to query for it with something like

Page::get()->filter(array('Access:PartialMatch' => 2)):

But note that this would find 2 as well as 12 :)

I think I may have led you astray slightly.

$links = SiteTree::get("SiteTree", "ShowInMenus = 1")->filter(array('ParentID' => $arrID));

Is my starting query that works but I need to query another field called access that is a checkbox field that stores it's data as a comma separated list.
So the extra query / filter would need to be something like this:

->filter( array( '2' => 'access' ) )

But this gives me an error

I have just tried

->filter(array('access:PartialMatch' => '1'))

But I get the error Unknown column 'access' in 'where clause'
This is a field added to a tab Root.Access on each page. How to I query the access field?

In the cms I have a list of checkboxes that store values as a comma separated string e.g. 1, 2, 8
When getting the site tree I want to only select pages if they have a certain value in this field.
This is the query I'm currently using:

$links = SiteTree::get("SiteTree", "ShowInMenus = 1")->filter('ParentID' , 21)

I would like to extend this query with something like FIND_IN_SET('6',my_field) or my_field like "%6%"
How can I do this by adding another filter, I've looked at the Enum class but without any luck.

Hi,

Considering there was no response what so ever, I decided to do things a bit differently. After extensive search in forums, I came up with following.

1. If there are several places you need to set up the gallery (that module I described frankmullenger/gallery), first set up one new config entry into gallery/_config/gallery.yaml

UploadFolder:
Folders:
<PAGE TYPE THE GALLERY GOES>: "<NEW FOLDER NAME>*"
<PAGE TYPE THE GALLERY GOES>: "<NEW FOLDER NAME>"
Folder:
- "<NEW FOLDER NAME>"

where * will have sub folders described later. IF there will not be several places, you can just remove the Folders part till Folder.

If only one place, you can set up the folder name as what ever you like or do not change yaml file at all and all will be default (but in that case you do not need the second part of that tutorial as well).

2. Change/edit file gallery/code/Gallery.php so, that you would replace/change original updateCMSFields function as follows

$fields -> addFieldToTab("Root.Gallery", $uploadImage = GalleryUploadField::create(

And cause for news page I wanted each news to be in separated folder (images) then there will be the sub folder part I mentioned before, contains name from ID and date created.

That should eventually cover all the bases - starting from multiple location, multiple upload folders, ending with single location (if yaml file will not be changed).

Getting Parent (article) info into DataExtension.

Hi.

I'm very new on SS (working on first page) and I stumbled upon very weird situation.

For news page, client wanted the gallery, so I downloaded one frankmullenger/gallery. Now that one has small thing I wanted to change without any "change" to actual module due to update possibilities: upload folder and try to make it also dynamical.

Idea is simple - use setFolderName("news/subfolder") - where subfolder is changing based on URLSegment of the specific article/page.
So I came up with solution that I created the new class inside the page code:

class GalleryModule_PageExtension extends Gallery_PageExtension{
public function updateCMSFields(FieldList $fields){
$fields -> removeFieldFromTab("Root.Gallery", "Images");

$fields->addFieldToTab('Root.Gallery', $newsImage = GalleryUploadField::create(
'Images',
'',
$this->owner->OrderedImages()
));
$newsImage -> setFolderName("News-Images/".<WANT_URLSegment_HERE>);
}
}

what then extends the part where files input is created so, that it will remove the default, creates new and adds the folder name (that seamed like most reasonable way to do it). So far so good (no problems there), added into yaml file of extension the necessary info for that specific class.

Now problem starts, when trying to get the URLSegment part for that specific article/news (Gallery is as a tab for that news). What ever I try, I either get an error of that method not allowed or browsers 500 error page.

Any ideas or suggestion how to resolve that issue?

Hmm, it should work but just in case: try setting the extensions via the YML config

Also, have you added translation content for the locale that isn't the default? You need to add this via the CMS first before it will load - otherwise it will probably just default to the default locale.

Ensure to have Translable module installed too, and to set_default_locale, not just set_locale.

It's SS 3.1.13, Translatable 2.0.8 and TDO dev-master.
I have two DO classes: "Facility" ($has_one) and "FacilityType" ($has_many) with which I chose to be managed in ModelAdmin (as they are global properties of the site owner). I cannot however get TranslatableDataObject extension to enable translation for them, despite reading carefully the setup instructions: https://github.com/bummzack/translatable-dataobject

Inspect the HTML that is output.
A the very beginning, it should look something like:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="...">
<head>
<base href="http://yoursite.com/ssinstall/" />

If it does not, then you need to add to your template, as the very first thing inside the <head> tag:

<% base_tag %>

This is very important in SilverStripe as all paths are given relative to the install root.

If you open your dev tools in Chrome and look at what's happening in the Network tab when the browser tries to load images you might find some clues there.

Are other static resources like javascript files loading okay?

Do you have a <% base_tag %> in the head section of your Page.ss template?

Yes you need to look at the webserver's configuration. This is cannot be a silverstripe issue if _ALL_ images are missing.

Do you have images enabled in the browser? Is some addon blocking it for that site?
Otherwise look at your web server's configuration (particularly around the rewrite rules).

Yes thats right.
No image appears on the web pages regardless, whether it is part of the theme or module.
No images appear, not from the Grid Field or from the image folder??

Depends on your setup.
Usually a control panel will let you do it (if you have one, like plesk, cpanel, etc).
Or you'll have to google "Apache set permissions to access a directory"

WAMP... So you are on Windows? Do you by any chance have a web.config file in your assets directory? If so, you might have to add your file-extension there as well...

Okay, I added that line: File::$allowed_extensions[] = 'HOL';
to both \mysite\_config.php and \cms\_config.php

Restarted all WAMP services

Re-initialised the website with a ?flush=1

Tried uploading both a real .HOL file and a text file re-named with a .HOL extension

Still getting the "There was a problem with the upload. The server did not accept it." error. :-(

What else can I try??

I replayed this on a local 2.4.2 site I still have and for me this (in mysite/_config.php) just worked:

File::$allowed_extensions[] = 'HOL';

(on a renamed textfile) I was kind of hoping it wouldn't, so I could help find a solution... Reloaded the CMS, then tried a default File section upload and one using the ImageField. No issues whatsoever, sorry :(

[edit:] this was with DataObjectManager and Uploadify...

I posted here because there were other similar questions posted in this section. If there's a more appropriate section, please let me know.

We're using version 2.4.0

The topic you linked to wouldn't have really helped. I don't want to 'restrict' uploads to just certain file types; I want all currently allowed filetypes to still be allowed, but I want to make .HOL filetypes allowable as well.

Any thoughts?

Based on your code I'm thinking this is caused by a never ending loop, because of the Products class many_many relation to itself. Maybe the ComplexTableField can handle this but the ManyManyDataObjectManager just gets lost in repeating itself somewhere?

I guess you are using SilverStripe 2.4 or older - version 2.4 is no longer supported and I don't think UnleCheese is still actively monitoring the DataObjectManager. So if you're still developing, I'd suggest upgrading to 3.1 if at all possible.
