I am using WebHostingPad.com and my site was disabled for excessive CPU usage and was told that if it happened again it would be permanently disabled. The offending script, main.php. I have Forums, Image Gallery, User Forms as part of the install. I have about 200 users that visit the site on a regular bases.

What can be done to reduce CPU usage by SS? The their tech support stated that the CPU usage spiked above 10%, but I don't have a way to measure.

Any thoughts other than look for a new host? Anybody else have this problem?

You can look into things like StaticPublisher, or ask your host to install an opcode cache, like memcache.

Otherwise it sounds like it's time for you to upgrade to something that gives you more resources. There's a list of some of the hosts that people have used in the pass.
