does anyone use 123-reg to host silverstripe sites?

Does anyone know if they fulfill the best requirements for silverstripe intall?

I had a message from their support that said

"You need a VPS server for the "AllowOveride All" part.

I thought that would be their responsibility, so am a little confused as to whether they do fulfil requirements or not?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi

I work on behalf of 123-reg.

My understanding of 'AllowOveride All' is that it gives you the ability to modify the .htaccess file.

The function is available by default with all 123-reg Linux Hosting accounts.

Hi Ricky,

thanks for response. I am actually in the process of trying to install my first silverstripe site on 123-reg. as i went ahead and bought the full package.

so i have created a database, uploaded the silverstripe files to the /public_html folder.

However, when i go to http://www.airugby.com/install.php i am being redirected to http://www.123-reg.co.uk/

I am about to send a question regarding this to 123-reg support. But do you know why this might be???

any advice much appreciated.
