I'm trying to install the latest stable release on a client's server. Installation went without trouble. But as soon as I try to access the CMS I get a grey screen with a 500 Internal Server Error. I've tried to get more information through dev-mode but no luck. I deleted all and reinstalled. No luck still.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? The frontend is reachable just fine. Could this be a rights issue? Thankful for any ideas. Worst case I will have to fall back on 3.1 but of course 3.2 would be preferred.

As I didn't have access to the log files I had to bug my provider. At first it seemed to be some sort of loop created in the .htaccess file

"[error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] Request exceeded the limit of 8 internal
redirects due to probable configuration error. Use
'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use
'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace."

In the end it turned out to be a memory issue. While the system requirements state

memory_limit = 48M

we needed to up it to 256M to work. Now it's flawless.

Hope this helps others.
