Here is my original post - http://silverstripe.org/general-questions/show/289632?showPost=289634
Basically I tried to upload a bunch of PNGs into my gallery and I got this message...

"Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 29884416) (tried to allocate 4205898 bytes) in /homepages/43/d331152502/htdocs/sapphire/filesystem/GD.php on line 23"

I could not login to my backend for a a bit (then I deleted my browser history). Now I can and when I try to edit my gallery I get the above error where the content should be. Also I cannot delete the page as all that is in the content is the above...

Dammit.

You're not going to be able to run ImageGallery at 32M. Use at least 128.

Sorry - how do I change from 32M to 128M?

I usually just do it in .htaccess.

php_value memory_limit 128M

Do I change my existing .htaccess file? Just tried that and ended up with a "500 External Error" page(?).

Sorry.

That usually means your hosting provider doesn't allow you to modify that setting. Are you on shared hosting?
