Event Calendar Module problem

I am trying to install the Event Calendar module. I am using Silverstripe 2.4.5. I downloaded and successfully installed the DataObjectManager module and downloaded and installed the Event Calendar module. The Calendar and Calendar Event pages show up in my CMS. I can add a Calendar but not an event. I tried changing my locale to 'en_GB' as I have seen on other threads but no change. I tried installing the legacydatetimefields but still not working. My error message is "
Fatal error: Call to a member function FormName() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/(mywebsite)/subdomains/webdemo/httpdocs/sapphire/forms/DateField.php on line 208"

Can the Event Calendar module be used with SS 2.4.5, or do I have to downgrade to 2.3?
