do youself a big favor and increase your prodictivity by not using microsofts software. Deep down in your heart you know that their products only lead to problems and a lot of unnecessary anger and pain.

Unfortunately we can't close our eyes for the everything around us that's happening in he world. ;-)
Beside that, a api for client apps to use for bloggin is, as far as I know, not something Microsoft came up with. There are a lot of tools using it and making blogging more common for people with only knowledge of desktop apps.
