I found the archived link that described that it was possible to re-brand SilverStripe's CMS backend but the answer was vague and seemed to point to an area elsewhere that describes the process more fully. Can any point me in the right direction? Essentially I want to be able to re-brand this CMS and begin using it with my clients b/c it seems pretty impressive so far!

I've done it. You'd be amazed how much you can do just by altering the stylesheets. All of the look-and-feel of the CMS is stored in the CSS.

They also give you two static vars -- $applicationName and $applicationLogo (something like that) to give you control over the name and logo for the CMS.

yea I did this for the first time the other day, just check out the images stored in cms/images and sapphire/images to see how much you can do just by saving over some of those images. I got a whole new scheme just buy changing images and 2 values in the cms/css/layout.css file.

Ok, very cool. Thanks for the quick heads up. Altering the CSS seems like the way to go...that and updating some images. I suppose once you get something specifically branded for yourself you can then keep a local copy of that fileset and make the changes to all future sites you build that utilize SS. Are any of you using that method?

In case you speak German, there will be a tutorial about rebranding the CMS in the upcoming SilverStripe book as well ;)

HI Guys

Currently users are not able to specify image titles (for alt tag) in the CMS without going into the Files and Images section. We want to encourage users to add alt tags by having a text input box where they upload a photo.

Any help with that!!

Many Thanks
