Hi I'm having this exact same problem. It was moving extremely smooth at first, but now with about 100 pages under a node it is painfully slow to expand that node to see the pages within, or some times it doesn't work at all and just times out.

I resolved my problem by turning off my squid proxy server. I did not find out why though. It might be because the ajax script is not working well when browser got proxy turned on
