Where is Author info stored?

In my Content pages I have something like:

By Firstname Surname

and if edited then it'll display:

By Firstname Surname
Last modified x time ago by Firstname Surname

Where is that information stored?

SiteTree_versions. The RecordID column holds the ID of the page(s).

The ID of the user is stored in columns AuthorID && PublisherID... but I'm not sure what the difference is between the two...
