I'm test-upgrading a site to 3beta1 and stumbled into the missing PageComments. I knew they would be separated from core and now I'm wondering: will the silverstripe-comments module (apparently in its alpha stage) be developed further, and possibly be ready for production alongside the SilverStripe core?

cheers, Martine

One of the reasons I wanted to strip it out was to work on it heavily (one feature is threaded comments). Now that the beta is out would be great if people could install the module and try it out.

Ensuring the module is production grade is likely going to be my task for this weekends hackfest so any features / contributions welcome!

Thanks Will, I'll make a start with it today. Would you rather use this thread for comments/contributions or move it to the dev group?

* For contributions keep it all on the github either via pull requests / edits
* open.silverstripe.org for bugs / features you would like to see (a number have already been added)
* If you want to get opinions about the API etc then post here or the dev list.

Note I did strip out the module from trunk over a year ago so it has to be upgraded to the new ORM as well if someone wants to tackle that.

Hi Willr,

you mentioned threaded comments:

"One of the reasons I wanted to strip it out was to work on it heavily (one feature is threaded comments). "

I can't find a hint within the modules docs or by googling for "silverstripe threaded comments".

Is this already part of the current implementation?

Almost! Proof of concept at https://github.com/silverstripe/silverstripe-comments/pull/74
