Hi, has anyone used Joomla, how does it compare in terms of speed? (and other aspects, if you feel like sharing)

I'm looking for a CMS and so far the only well known CMSes that are framework like and got modern OOP coding are these 2. SS looks more interesting, but from what I've read it is too heavy, meant for governments and not typical community sites on shared hosts, is this correct?

I hope anyone can help. Thanks!

I cannot be helpful myself, but this is from someone I've just employed... I send out a small silverstripe test to ensure people understand the framework and can do basic things without issues...

"I really enjoyed Silverstripe, a lot easier than Joomla"

It's not uncommon for me to hear this.

I've run SS3.0.x on shared hosting and at peak times it was seriously slow. Though I don't imagine a sprawling Joomla install would be any better.

I will however second the notion that SS is a lot more pleasant to work with than Joomla, both as a developer and an end user. I can't speak for the latest version of Joomla though, not tried that and probably never will unless I really have to.
