Just wanted to know: Does silverstripe.org run on SilverStripe? Out of curiosity. :)
We've moved the forum!
Please use forum.silverstripe.org for any new questions
(announcement).
The forum archive will stick around, but will be read only.
You can also use our Slack channel
or StackOverflow to ask for help.

Yes. SilverStripe.org, SilverStripe.com both run on SS 2.3. Uses the following modules - blog 0.2, forum 0.2, google sitemaps, newsletter, subversion and tagfield. The 2 components that arent ss is open.silverstripe.org and the wiki
You can find out about most sites by viewing source code and seeing
<meta name="generator" http-equiv="generator" content="SilverStripe 2.3 - http://www.silverstripe.com" >
:)
That's great! There's no better endorsement for software than to use it yourself. :)
I get pretty mad when I see the websites of CMSes that aren't running on their own product (won't mention any names).
Also great endorsement to see the community building some awesome sites in SS and uploading them to the showcase. Good to see :)
Well, you can write what you choose into this meta tag... It's no proof whatsoever.
Im not saying its fool proof, its just another way to check - just like to *could* tell its SilverStripe if you try sitename.com/dev/build/ and it redirects you to Security/login, check the source code and see what the paths are like eg CSS files might link to themes/themename/css/.
You can also do http://silverstripe.com/cms/silverstripe_version but note this version number is incorrect usually on most sites if you use svn externals.
hey Willr,
i just noticed that you mentioned a subversion module, but i dont see that in the modules download section of this site... i was just curious if you have any more information about the module and if it is downloadable.
thanks,
-Chris
Hey Chris,
Only modules which have a stable release are listed on that page. You can see all the modules we have (which is a much longer list at http://open.silverstripe.com/browser/modules/). And you find the subversion module at http://open.silverstripe.com/browser/modules/subversion/trunk. You can check it out via svn
svn co http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/subversion/trunk subversion
We currently use it for management of subversion modules and generating download files.
