Hi im new to SilverStripe. I want to put a slideshow on my home page. After reading the forums, i'm a little confused about the 'Build the database (e.g. http://localhost/mysite/dev/build)'. Do i add a table in the existing db in phpmyadmin?

Thanks in advance to all people who post :-)

If you are a bit old school then it can be a little confusing... answer is no... empty db and run the "dev build" this creates the DB.
If you then change the DataObjects then "dev build" will update the tables as required.

note old columns are retained if removed from data object (good news you don't loose the data, bad news it can mean you leave direct SQL using them and cause an error) - there is a module dataobjectcruft that removes these if needed
