After I did the above mentioned update, I now get the following warning (also see attached screenshot):

seems the URL in your snippet should be encoded before?
Or maybe cause the URL in your text has [tt_news] included which looks like a shortcode without ending tag...

Ok, thanks. But the whole code is regular SilverStripe. So SS should take care of the URL entered via the CMS-Backend.
Indeed, should.
Sadly it seems like this might be one of those times to log an issue on the github ;)
